The Bastardization of America

The bastards are undammed. The patriarchy, and I mean the petty, vindictive, juvenile, ignorant, and mean patriarchy, is on full display. Seething toxicity is pouring out of the fuming black pits of insecure small-D man-boys and the damaged and broken females who support them.
I hit a wall after I finished and published my Man-ifesto in November of 2023. I realized we are up against human nature. “Don’t be a bastard” is the core of the Man-ifesto. Great. Now what? What can I write to help break the dark side of human nature? How do you get a person who has more privilege than virtually every other human being who has lived before him to get it? How do we stop selfishness? Hatred for the other? Dehumanization of humans? And why do we try to understand these bastards, as if they are somehow the victims?
A bunch of American voters actually voted for this piece of shit felon rapist, and justified it. Or at least tried to. This is willful blindness. And unfortunately, human nature. At least I am calling them human. They are calling my friends and family subhuman. They voted to be able to call my friends and my family (and sometimes me) subhuman.
Fuck you.
What do we do about this? How do we deal with people who look at this and are all in?
Say “No.”
This is a blanket “No.” This crew of fascists’ strategy is to “flood the zone with shit,” to quote Steve Bannon, so that it’s too much shit to analyze, define, evaluate, and create an argument against.
So, rather than go the route of saying “this is what authoritarians do” or “they’re doing project 2025” or “they can’t just let Musk stop payment on checks and dismantle USAID” or “we just need to understand these people,” etc., I say:
“No.”
We know it’s wrong. They know it’s wrong. If they are in the Kool-Aid so deep as to buy this bullshit, well, they had nine years to see the light and they prefer the dark. They are deep in the cult. We can’t persuade them - we certainly haven’t by now. It’s time to stop them, not argue with them. So:
No.
25% tariffs on Mexico and Canada? No. No need to explain. It’s obvious. We see you, you bastards.
No.
Elon and his racist kids invading the federal disbursements apparatus? It’s obviously illegal and ill-advised in any case. It’s certainly not an “audit.” No explanations needed.
No.
Colonizing Gaza? Come on.
No.
Denying a person’s identity? Removing inspectors general?
I could go on, right? All of them are wrong and illiberal and fascist.

Part of being in a cult is believing your leaders have your best interests at heart, and that they are there for you and can do no wrong. So, when your hero Elon takes his cadre of children into the heart of the United States payment systems and starts fucking around, you’re cool with it, because Elon loves you. When Trump dictates that we must be male or female only, you know he’s doing it because he loves you. When he says the word “tariff” is the most beautiful word, he must be right because he is fucking brilliant! These guys are beyond the charts awesome, and they are deigning to use their formidable power to help little-ol’ you! Anyone who dares speak against them, why, they are evil! They are satanic! They are commie fascists! How dare they treat these superior beings this way? How dare they question their dictates?
This is how cult members act. They buy into the cult, and then they refuse to believe anything against the cult or its leaders. Worse, they see even the slightest criticism of their guys as evil.
This is hard to fight. It’s like fighting terrorists in concrete bunkers with pop-guns.
The people who believe in their cult leaders need to be disregarded. They are cult members, and beyond the reach of reason - at least until (maybe) they get hit directly by the cult leader. It won’t be you or me who persuades them, it will be their bounced checks, losing their jobs, or their dying in the streets because there is no more hospital in Podunkville, MAGA-stan. It will be their daughter or their wife dying because of an ectopic pregnancy.

We need to stop them any way we can. Legally, of course. If we can’t do it legally, God help us.
The cult leaders know what they are doing. They know it’s wrong - or at least it’s not in the best interests of all Americans. The only interests they are serving are their own, and they will chuck a few people a few crumbs to open the doors to acquire more pelf. Since they have breached the perimeter, they are not even throwing crumbs! Oh sure, they are stroking their base by “renaming” the Gulf of Mexico and Denali. But otherwise? They are dictating whatever they want. And what they want is not to help you. There is no way on God’s green earth that dismantling USAID the way they are is a good thing. There is no way that kicking Gazans out of their homeland so that the US can turn Gaza into a resort is a good thing. Extrapolate from there.
We know that every action that Felon Trump, Elon Musk, the ludicrously-named “DOGE” does is wrong on its face. There is no silver lining to what they are doing. There is no “they may have a point there!” No. Whether there is some collateral goodness or unintended positive consequences does not matter. Their purpose and their mission is to fuck you up. Therefore, the leaders can be disregarded. They are cult leaders led by a felon and are actively breaking laws. Why argue?
No.
So, we have cult members on one side who are all-in on the cult, and we have the MAGA cult leaders and enablers on the other side raiding the US till and removing barriers to raiding some more.
The ultimate blame for these bastards feeling like they can run roughshod over US laws, the Constitution, and the people, goes to the Republican Party for allowing these bastards on the ticket in the first place in 2016, let alone 2020 and 2024. Parties are supposed to field capable humans, not power mad wannabe dictators. And politicians are supposed to first and foremost take their jobs seriously, and their oaths sacredly. I mean, they should act like Americans. Not partisan greedy power monger chickenshit bastards.
We should not waste our time blaming anyone else. The way to root this out is to condemn all Republicans. The entire party. This means calling these spades spades. If they are Republicans, they are unqualified for any office in the United States or any state. They took oaths to the Constitution, and they break their oaths every time they open their mouths.
What do we do? We shut them down completely. They cannot govern, so stop them from governing. They don’t follow the law, so apply American law to them. They hate “government?” Kick the bastards out of government.
Put sand in the gears. Spikes in the trees (metaphorically, of course). Never agree with them on anything, ever. By “them” I mean your family, acquaintances, your MAGA-stupored friends, local and state politicians. Anyone who voted for this. Just say:
No.
And fuck human nature. We are better than our base instincts. Let the troglodytes adapt or die, but never stop for them. Go through them. Sideline them.
You see, here’s the thing. We are the majority of Americans. Most of us are not on the fringe. We are not bastards. We are the ones who work. We are the ones who are creative. We are the ones who dance. We are the ones who fucking love life. We are upset because, what the fuck? Why be so damned spiteful? Why be so damned mean? Why are these people so hateful? We’re not. We’re Americans. We celebrate people. We love Ru Paul. We love Taylor Swift. We love Willie Nelson, and Nelson Riddle, and Ridley Scott, and Scott Pilgrim. We care about our friends, we care about our neighbors. We share. We have empathy. We are so good we try to figure out what valid purpose these motherfuckers have for doing what they are doing. Surely, they can’t be that bad, right? It’s hard to think that these people are like this. But they are. So no. We have to gird our loins. We must confront the fact that this is happening and that they are doing it.
So, no. We give them no quarter. And we live and enjoy our lives. They hate it when we enjoy our lives.
